I think altcoin season will start in September 2025 because that's when altcoins took off in 2023 and 2024.
Is Altcoin Season Dead?
No. It's not but will be delayed until late Q3 2025. There are simply too much trading volume on altcoins for it to be completely forgotton.

How I'm Positioning Myself for Altcoin Season 2025
I believe a large cap dominant portfolio is always the best strategy for altcoin season. I'm looking into:
- 80% Large cap altcoins: ETH, SOL, and XRP
- 10% Small cap altcoins: ICP and MANA
- 10% meme coins: PEPE and DOGE
No reason to risk too much on small caps or memes but I do want some exposure before September 2025.
Things to Watch Out For
- Coinmarketcap's Altcoin Season Index: Monitor the CMC Altcoin season index to figure out when Bitcoin dominance decreases and altcoins start pumping.
- Led Up to Uptober: October is a huge month for crypto historically and lots of crypto traders frontrun it by buying up altcoins in September.
